The idea originated on a farm in China's Yunnan Provence, where farmers manage hundreds of tonnes of husk waste. Mr Wright was invited to work alongside the farmers to identify ways to improve quality and environmental standards.

Coffee husks are a nutrient-void waste material produced at the milling stage of coffee production. It's traditionally discarded by farmers and left in mounds to go mouldy.

They then set about coming up with a "closed-loop system" to use the farming waste to create the HuskeeCup to help solve problems at both the cafe and farm level.
