Digital pH Test Pen for DIY Skincare

  • $20.50
  • $12.50

Check the pH of your water-based skincare creations with a clear digital reading, without needing to match colours on a test strip.

This compact pH test pen measures pH and temperature, Use it to check suitable liquid formulations, such as facial mists, toners and fluid water-based serums, against the target range specified in your recipe.

The backlit display is easy to read, while the slim design is convenient to store alongside your scales, beakers and other formulation tools.

Why check your formulation’s pH?

The pH of a water-containing product can influence ingredient performance, preservative effectiveness and how comfortable the product feels on your skin. A digital meter helps you monitor your batches and make informed adjustments when following a reliable formulation.

How to use

Calibrate the pen with suitable pH buffer solutions according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Place a small sample of your formulation in a clean container, immerse the sensing end to the recommended depth and allow the reading to stabilise.

Rinse the electrode between samples and clean and store it according to the supplied instructions. Regular calibration and proper electrode care are essential for reliable results.

Please note

This model is best suited to suitable aqueous liquid samples; suitability for thick creams, lotions and gels should be confirmed before use, as these may require a specialist electrode.

It is not suitable for directly measuring the pH of water-free oils, balms or body butters. A pH reading alone does not confirm that a formulation is safely preserved.

The 0.01 pH display resolution describes the increments shown on the screen; the supplier-stated measurement accuracy is ±0.1 pH.
